Taking care of your sensitive skin

Caring for sensitive skin requires a gentle and caring approach. Here are some tips to soothe and protect sensitive skin:

1. Gentle cleaning
- Use a gentle cleanser : Choose a cleansing soap with natural ingredients that won't irritate your skin. Opt for formulas designed for sensitive skin, which are often richer in moisturizing and soothing ingredients.
- Avoid hot water : Water that is too hot can dry out and irritate the skin. Prefer lukewarm water.

2. Regular hydration

- Fragrance-free moisturizers : Apply a moisturizer suitable for sensitive skin, ideally hypoallergenic and fragrance-free, to soothe the skin and restore its skin barrier.
- Products rich in ceramides or hyaluronic acid : These ingredients help strengthen the skin barrier and maintain hydration.

3. Sun protection
- Sunscreen SPF 30 or higher : Sensitive skin is often more prone to sunburn and irritation from UV rays. Choose a mineral sunscreen (with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide), which is gentler and less likely to cause reactions.
- Avoid excessive sun exposure : Even with sunscreen, it is important to limit direct sun exposure, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

4. Gentle exfoliation
- Gentle exfoliants : If you exfoliate your skin, choose non-abrasive products and avoid physical scrubs that are too aggressive. Opt for a silk exfoliating glove suitable for sensitive skin and without chemicals which is gentler on sensitive skin.
- Limited frequency: Do not exfoliate your skin more than once a week, to avoid any risk of irritation.

5. Avoid harsh products
- Limit products containing alcohol or perfume : These can be irritating to sensitive skin. Choose simple formulations without potentially allergenic ingredients.
- Opt for soothing treatments: Products with ingredients such as aloe vera, chamomile, colloidal oatmeal or calendula are perfect for calming irritated skin.

6. Soft makeup
- Choose non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic products : Foundations or makeup bases specifically designed for sensitive skin are recommended. Also check that the makeup is fragrance- and alcohol-free.
- Makeup removal : Always carefully remove your makeup before sleeping with a gentle makeup remover.

7. Avoid stress and pollution
- Protection against pollution : Pollution can aggravate sensitive skin problems, so using an anti-pollution treatment can be beneficial. Creams with vitamin C or antioxidants can help protect the skin.
- Stress management : Stress can trigger breakouts and inflammation, so relaxation practices, like meditation or yoga, can help calm the mind and skin.

8. Choose soft fabrics
- Favor natural fabrics : Avoid cotton or rough fabrics that can irritate the skin, and prefer fabrics like soft cotton or silk to avoid excessive friction.

In summary, the key to sensitive skin is to opt for gentle products, without irritants, and to favor a simple and soothing routine. If you notice persistent or severe reactions, it is best to consult a dermatologist.
